Goods and Services Tax Network


GSTN is a Section 8 (under new companies Act, not for profit companies are governed under section 8), non-Government, private limited company. It was incorporated on March 28, 2013. The Government of India holds 24.5% equity in GSTN and all States of the Indian Union, including NCT of Delhi and Puducherry, and the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers (EC), together hold another 24.5%. Balance 51% equity is with non-Government financial institutions. The Company has been set up primarily to provide IT infrastructure and services to the Central and State Governments, tax payers and other stakeholders for implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). The Authorised Capital of the company is Rs. 10,00,00,000 (Rupees ten crore only).

“The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is an executive agency of the Union Government of the Republic of India. It was carved out of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on 19 July 2016 as a standalone ministerial agency responsible for IT policy, strategy and development of electronics industry.
The work for developing and mandating standards for electronics goods is in advanced stage and the “Electronics & IT Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” Phase – V has been notified. As on date 63 electronics and IT product categories have been notified.
In order to facilitate the same for the following technical resources are to be deployed.”

ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA


The Election Commission of India is an autonomous constitutional authority responsible for administering election processes in India. The body administers elections to the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, state Legislative Assemblies in India, and the offices of the President and Vice President in the country. The Election Commission operates under the authority of Constitution per Article 324,and subsequently enacted Representation of the People Act. The Commission has the powers under the Constitution, to act in an appropriate manner when the enacted laws make insufficient provisions to deal with a given situation in the conduct of an election. Being a constitutional authority, Election Commission is amongst the few institutions which function with both autonomy and freedom, along with the country’s higher judiciary, the Union Public Service Commission and the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

The Department of Posts comes under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The Postal Service Board, the apex management body of the Department, comprises the Chairman and six Members.

For more than 150 years, the Department of Posts (DoP) has been the backbone of the country’s communication and has played a crucial role in the country’s socio-economic development. It touches the lives of Indian citizens in many ways: delivering mails, accepting deposits under Small Savings Schemes, providing life insurance cover under Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) and providing retail services like bill collection, sale of forms, etc. The Department of Posts also acts as an agent for Government of India in discharging other services for citizens such as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) wage disbursement and old age pension payments. With 1,55,015 Post Offices, the Department of Posts has the most widely distributed postal network in the world.

District Mineral Foundation (DMF) is a trust set up as a non-profit body, in those districts affected by the mining works, to work for the interest and benefit of persons and areas affected by mining-related operations. It is funded through the contributions from miners. PMKKKY stands for Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) which is a program meant to provide the welfare of areas and people affected by mining-related operations, using the funds generated by DMF.

The Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DAC&FW) is one of the three constituent Departments of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, the other two being Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries (DAHD&F) and Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE). This Department is headed by Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister and is assisted by three Ministers of State.

The DAC&FW is organized into 27 divisions and has five attached Offices and twenty-one subordinate offices which are spread across the country for coordination with state level agencies and implementation of Central Sector Schemes in their respective fields. Further, one Public Sector Undertakings, nine autonomous bodies, ten national-level cooperative organizations and two authorities are functioning under administrative control of Department.

Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL), is a Telecom infrastructure provider, set up by the government of India for the establishment, management and operation of National Optical Fibre Network. It is under Telecom department.

BBNL was incorporated as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under Companies Act of 1956. It was incorporated on 25 February 2012.

On 25 October 2011 the government of India approved the National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) to connect all 2,50,000 Gram panchayats (GPs) in the country. Other government companies like C-DOT, TCIL and NIC are working with BBNL on the NOFN Project. The funding of the project is from Universal Services Obligation Fund.

As on April 2013, Gujarat state government has planned to connect all the villages through Fiber optic network. This network will be provided by BBNL and to be used for eGRAM project. BBNL, State government and Central government are part of this project.
