Role: Executive Vice President - Technology (Technology Head)

Role Purpose
The role is responsible for setting the organizations technological vision, implementing technology strategies, and assuring that the technological resources are aligned to the achievement of organizational strategic vision.
Act as a thought leader to all business functions across the organization on technology applications, systems support, infrastructure support and IT Operations. Lead, motivate and develop a team of highly skilled technical professionals. The incumbent is responsible for effectively managing the budget, quality and timelines of various technological initiatives of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Deployment and Operations Management: 50% weightage o Create functional specification documents for Applications and Infrastructure and share the same with SIs/ MSPs etc.; Review the finalized technical specifications being shared by SIs/ MSPs o Review and monitor the establishment of the initial architecture for the software, hardware & network applications as per the envisaged plan (i.e. time, cost and quality) o Establish governance processes and control mechanisms to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately, and the organization’s resources are used responsibly o Drive adherence to technology standards and best practices o Collaborate with head, Information Security to ensure that there is utmost information security in the systems & there is no slippage of confidential information/data o Provide inputs to procurement and contracts team in the selection of outsourced vendors (MSPs) o Establish standards of performance and monitor conformance for staff (through performance review) and MSPs (through service level agreements) o Oversee the maintenance of the running applications and introduction of new applications/ IT infrastructure as per the market dynamics and stakeholder requirements o Assure overall compliance to SLAs & service standards, undertake process improvement initiatives in order to provide smooth seamless IT services to customers o Minimal lag times and resolution of hardware and system downtime related problems o Provide inputs to procurement & contracts team for the procurement of all technology related items o Provide inputs to the training design head to prepare technical training curriculum and roll out the same o Provide guidance and support for overall IT related Change Management of various stakeholders IT Strategy Design and Implementation: 30% weightage o Develop an IT vision, strategy and a roadmap, and lead the IT team in effective execution o Plan the overall IT budget & manage resources within allocated budgets, ensuring cost of developing new applications & enhancements is within the approved project costs in order to keep expenses within required budgetary limits o Define the priorities, objectives and targets that underpins what contributes to delivery of value to business aligned with best practices and standards o Develop and maintain overall framework of IT policies, Operating guidelines, standards and strategies that will empower business and people to deliver on their commitments to the strategy and budgets o Lead strategic insight and overview of business case justifications and ROI analysis for IT spending and initiatives o Identify needs and ensure ideal IT solutions/platforms are developed in a timely manner that support delivery of organizational services o Identify & evaluate evolving technology trends/ changes that may support or impede the success of GSTN and incorporate the learning in the established technological systems Capability Development: 10% weightage o Build, motivate & retain a team of superior tech talent through robust recruitment, mentoring and career management o Develop capability for the team through performance management, training, and coaching to drive high performance Others: 10% weightage o Preparation of timely and error free preparation of MIS and status updates for the top management and other authorities as may be required o Share knowledge, mentor and educate the organization’s management, staff and stakeholders on organization’s technological vision, opportunities, and challenges o Serve as a single point of escalation for all technology related matters Job Specifications

Qualification Required
B.Tech (IT)/ MS degree in IT / MCA while MS/ MBA is desirable
Experience

18+ years of experience
Nature of Experience
Proven record of leading a large team consisting of IT/Technology experts
Proven record of designing and implementing technology specific systems and solutions across multiple areas of a single organization
Knowledge of IT/Technology governance and operations
Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
Managed multiple MSP’s or Business Partner Relationships
Experience in setting up the IT/Technology function of a Start-Up Organization is preferred
