Principal Data Scientist will be responsible for entire life cycle of data analysis at GSTN. Incumbent is expected to understand the elementary data available with GST Data System, and develop analytical frameworks based on inputs from Business services team (Tax officials and domain experts). The prospective hire must be an extreme data enthusiast who lives by data and plays with patterns on the fly. The candidate must possess great mathematical skills with strong hands on coding skills in at least one of the data analytics took like R, Matlab and has good knack of at least one scripting language like Go Lang, Python, R etc. The incumbent shall be using all tools available at hand and develop replayable models for tax officers in field to investigate and collect requisite evidence. Once a model is developed, the candidate will also assist the partner developing replayable models such created. Candidates are expected to derive reusable equations to predict an outcome given certain inputs in a highly dynamic data scenario.
Good understanding of mathematical models defining data patterns
Must have strong knowledge of analytical framework for identifying deep patterns and extract valuable insights
Must have knowledge of derived intelligence using AI/ML techniques like neural networks
Must be comfortable with deriving effective intelligence with minimum scope for errors.
Must be comfortable with experimenting with new algorithms and models.
Should have a proven track record of conducting proof of concepts.
Strong fundamentals of Data structures and implementation for faster access velocities
Excellent communication skills in English language, both written and spoken is expected.
Applicant should have proficiency in
o Creating segmentation/Clustering
o Creating risk profile of taxpayers and profiling of different entities based of risk parameters.
o Creating Risk rating (Risk Based compliance scoring) for taxpayer
o Finding outliers/Anomalies from data analysis.
o Predictive analysis
o Network analysis and identification of relationships of fraudulent taxpayers.
o Diagnostic analysis
o Use of Artificial Intelligence for improving data models and improving analytics based on feedback using Machine learning.
o Statistical analytical models.
Product and Services Vendors Internal Departments i.e. Services; Procurements and Contracts; Customer Service, Technology
Key Attributes & Skills:
Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science/ Engineering/ Statistics/ Mathematics with at least 4-5 years of experience in analytics and data sciences.
Must have prior experience in executing statistical modelling, machine learning and Artificial Intelligence.
Should be well versed with at least two of the following: R, Python, SAS, Hive, SQL, Pig, Spark, and Hadoop.
Prior experience in working on at least 1 large scale projects related to fraud management/ risk management systems in BFSI sector will be added advantage.
Prior experience in handling projects related to Indirect tax domain will be a plus.
