“The Government attaches high priority to electronics hardware manufacturing and it is one of the important pillars of both “Make in India” and “Digital India” programmes of Government of India.

The National Policy on Electronics 2019 (NPE 2019) envisions positioning India as a global hub for Electronics by creating an enabling environment for the industry to compete globally. The aim is to achieve a turnover of USD 400 billion and net positive balance of payments in the electronics manufacturing sector by the year 2025.

IPHW Division, MeitY is also implementing multiple schemes and projects pertaining to Semiconductor Fab, Market Access, IP Sovereign Fund etc are also under NISG Proposal for Talent Acquisition & Management National Institute for Smart Government 5 formulation as part of action points under National Policy on Electronics (NPE 2019). Further, IPHW Division is also regulating registration and sale of electronics goods through Compulsory Registration Order (CRO). It has to give recommendations on Tariff related issues pertaining to electronics goods to Department of Revenue and its field formations on a regular basis. For effective execution of the aforementioned schemes, projects and other matters within the purview of IPHW Division; MeitY proposes to engage the services of a legal expert, accounts, chartered accountant and trade expert for assisting in the preparation and review of the various documents and provide advice on all issues and related processes as may be required from time to time, till the conclusion of the schemes mentioned above.”
